Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani

Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani (Persian: عبد القادر گیلانی,Urdu: عبد القادر گیلانی Abdolqāder Gilāni) (also spelled Abdulqadir Gaylani, Abdelkader, Abdul Qadir, Jeelani, Jilali, Gillani, Gilani) is a prominent Sunni scholar, thinker and jurist. The Sheikh was born on 14 December 1935 in Pakistan and is a descendant of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. The Sheikh's lineage is also linked to that of Ghaus ul Azam, Al-Syed Muhiyudin Abu Muhammad Abdal Qadir al-Gilani al-Hasani wal-Hussaini. The Sheikh is affiliated with the Qadri Sufi order.

The Sheikh presently teaches in London and has established numerous teaching establishments across the world, including Dar-ul-Uloom Qadria Jilania in Walthamstow, London. The Sheikh is recognised globally as one of the great thinkers of Islam and has been bestowed with the honorific title "Muffakir-e-Islam" in honour of this fact.

The Sheikh regularly speaks on topical issues facing the Muslim world and has worked all his life to protect and preserve the true Islam. The Sheikh’s works include "Zubda Tu Tehqeek" which has been widely acclaimed and recognised as a leading authority on the companions of Muhammad.
